Yesterday I got a free Spider-Man acquis from my local comics store.
I've had for a while the notion of finding about the segmentation of Spider-Man publishing and discovering if there is anything for me in the whole range. Therefore, I jumped at this opportunity to reacquaint myself with the narrative.
It's a mess. The forty-eight years of continuity and revision totally destroyed the possibility of caring about the story and seriously hurt the character. It goes to the extreme of including - hey!, Disney, are you reading this? - a pact with the devil, of all things. Bummer.
And now that Salinger is dead, who could possibly be brought in to the rescue of Peter Parker?
On the upside, Marvel's Icon imprint has begun publishing series two of Kick-Ass.
